NEVER apologize for stick-welding, with all the cheap mig welders there are now (yup, I'm guilty), stick welding is a dying skill.
I don't know Any welder better suited to outside weldind.
I usually throw the guard away first thing on my 90 grinders, then a 6" x 1/16" wheel and nobody tries to borrow it, they're afraid for their fingers!

Still drivin my 04 just had an intake manifold put on but I could not find an aftermarket one less than 1K. I hope it was at least a Dorman.
