  1. super easy and simple to work on IMO especially with a lift. Try this with 18" jack stands and no impact. lol Im not a corvette fan per se, but Ive bought many of dead ones just for the suspension/brake parts for other builds.

  2. You sure do have one beautiful mechanic working with you, I two have a 2006 C6 conxertable that I just bought with 25000 miles sure hope I never to u drake this type of repair love your channel Christopher Ottawa canada

  3. I think you need to talk to you're friend Derk Bieri you know vice grip garage hé Just there one up for a moter in his project giveaway maby snak some parts

  4. I've done these before, you can leave the struts and calipers attached to the car when dropping the "cannon" down. We called it the cannon because you can bring the whole unit down complete with the torque tube. I think unbolting the torque tube from the engine is easier than at the trans., likely more accessible bolts.

  5. Aaron, Emily, & Findley…Great Video! Think about a Hydraulic Table Cart from Harbor Freight to put that back in. The Handle on the cart can be modified to fold down out of the way. Is Findley an Australian Silky Terrier??

  6. Corvettes can be a pain in the ass I have a C7 Z06 manual transmission if you plan on lifting these cars up with a jack or a hoist I suggest you go to Amazon and get Corvette lifting pucks they go in the slots in the frame you turn them 90 degrees and you can pick the car up without damaging rocker panels and other body parts and you will automatically know your picking up the car in the correct points

  7. For safety, It’s recommended to strap the frame to the lift arms to avoid the vehicle from lifting off the pads as the weight is removed from the rear of the vehicle. Enjoy your videos.

  8. Well if there ever was an excuse to get a "short throw" shifter to replace that one, the slop in it and the fact you had it apart to get to it would have been it.

  9. You guys are great together, how wonderful to have a hobby you can share for quality time and bonding. My wife used to fish with me too when we were younger, lots of happy moments and memories.

  10. Quite a pickle with that bolt head around the 30 minute mark! You have to wonder how they built it! Either with a thin wall socket or just a very good open end wrench? (Since they used a torque wrench, maybe a crow's foot.)

One thing that might have worked, if you could fit a thin wall socket on that bolt head, is:

Sears Craftsman 9-43303 3-Piece Socket Cap Set
(I checked ebay and prices have gone bananas so I guess they don't make them any more.)

Harbor Freight will sell you the same for … $5!
    3-Piece Square Drive Socket Caps

They're little plugs you pop into the 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2" dr. hole in your socket, then you can put a box end or open end wrench on them with a lot fewer clearance problems than a ratchet head would give you.

  11. Good on you! Why not yank the transmission and rebuild it, you will have fun and learn lots! Yeah!
P.S. The "custom" wrench fabrication reminded me of watching my dad using a block of concrete by the side of the road to grind a tool down because we were stuck in the middle of nowhere when something broke and it had to fit a tight spot. Sorry to not be more specific, but it was a long time ago when I was a little kid. Brings back memories, thanks!

  12. I would go ahead and do the research and do a full rebuild on the trans while it is out. If you leave worn parts in there it will just wear out the new parts sooner. I had never worked on any transmissions until this winter. I watched some how-to-videos and got the repair manual for my trans (Borg Warner T5) and was able to figure it out.

  13. There are a lot of Great parts for those. I understand Winters has a Quick change center diff for those with a 35 Spline Winters track they rate for 1000 hp+, thank drifters for it. Also GForce has a 1200 hp rated T56 gear kit with either Triple Carbon Syncros or dog rings.
