Way back in 1994 we had a cold snap in Pa where the actual ait temp was – 20 at night for a few days. I used kerosene soaked rags in a metal coffee can to heat the oil in my 1983 ford escort exp.
Frosted Donuts for the Win! JustMoparJoe is right though, definitely don't want to put that pan of coals under any of my trucks. They would burn all night!
If you cover the front end of the vehicle with some old blankets it works even better. Drape the blankets over the sides and the front so they hang right to the ground it’ll keep all the heat in there.
One of those old timey bed warmer with a long handle would be perfect for that. I don't know if they even still make those or not.
Definitely had the oil warmed up, meanwhile camera crew was looking for those coals you put out too soon!!
That was Funny Thanks
Vans are so much fun! I really need one!

Your supposed to put a blanket over the hood of your van while your heating the oil pan. Look up what they do in Alaska
If you slide it under Duddies truck, the slow rear main drip will keep those coals going all night! Happy New Year!
Old school, love it!
Great idea, I wonder if a hobo freight heat gun would be faster?
And you can cook up a hamburger
Torpedo heater. Works great too.
Your camera crew/wife should get danger pay…lol!
That was a twisty cream filled donut!
Now I know what to do with all this coal I got for Christmas!!

I suppose it is better than having your kid lay under the van with a hair dryer on high. Happy New Year!!!
Brrrr. I feel for you, here in Southern Nevada this morning it was 46. I had to put on a sweater to get the newspaper.
I had a 1977 318 fury cop car from Montana that had a plug in block heater hanging out of the grille. I was in Las Vegas, so I never even tried it.
Very cool trick! I've never saw this before but it's a great trick to learn! Thanks for sharing! And Happy New Year!
One dozen frosted donuts please!
All 3 would be good
definitely looks like powdered sugar donuts to me.
powdered sugar donuts!!!! (sweet)
That is a pretty cool trick with them coal's.
funny
Wake up early and make the doughnuts.
People rely in you.
As much as I like the Drag Truck, that van has never ceased to impress me in both acceleration and mileage… Hope you have a Happy New Year!
