Brace yourself for perhaps the most gorgeous, wallet-troubling face off-yet, in Episode 5 of Llandow Laps. This time, Chris will be setting lap times in restomod creations from two of the UK’s most respected specialists: Tuthill’s 993-generation 911-based SCRS; and the Alfaholics GTA-R. As you might expect with a combined cost of nearly £1 million, both cars have been extensively re-engineered, with the Tuthill 911 SCRS’ 3.8-litre flat-six producing 324 PS, and the featherweight, carbon fibre-bodied GTA-R pumping out 243 PS courtesy of its 2.1-litre twin-cam inline-four.
It might look like the plucky Alfa isn’t in with a chance, but at just 797kg compared to the 911’s 1,215kg heft it should make a worthy competitor, or at least a wonderful thing to watch sliding past the majestic, caravan-filled vistas at Llandow.
Put your headphones in, turn up the volume, and join us for another grin-inducing Grudge Match, with the added bonus of Sound Recordist Ren’s famously dextrous digits.
Please note: Collecting Cars does not condone any drinking games which revolve around Chris’ use of the word ‘beautiful’ in this episode.

Llandow Laps is our exciting new series, hosted by Chris Harris at the ‘legendary’ Llandow Circuit in South Wales.
The concept behind Llandow Laps is to pitch two vehicles from the same genre against one another to see which is faster; and the first series will feature grand tourers (with a twist), hot hatches, supercars, roadsters, and restomods.
As well as showcasing the cars’ performance on track, the films will also reveal the behind-the-scenes work required to produce the end result, introducing some of the personalities from the Llandow Circuit and the Collecting Cars team.
The science bit: All cars featured in Llandow Laps will be unmodified from the specification seen on screen, they’ll be running with a full tank of fuel, and they’ll be fitted with sensible tyres available on the road cars from the factory.
Lap times will be recorded, and a winner of each head-to-head will be revealed – although there’ll be more focus on the driving experience and character of the cars than on the numbers alone.

Let's test a couple of top notch restomods in the pissing wet in Wales- their owners sure as hell won't… Still I watch because: Chris Harris. Next, motorbikes in the snow!
both is the right answer!
Wonder if alfaholics would take my daughter in trade?
Even though I’m in a 718 CGTS there are days when I miss my good old GTV6.
Longer vids please!
Ooooffffff the 911 sounds so good
Damn that Alfa, want is off the charts. Only slight in my eye is that it doesn't have those slim chrome bumbers of the stock car. If I had the money, mine would definitely have them.
thanks rev
Wet laps only for this jolly series then?
Would be nice to see these laps not in the pissing rain…
I've just emptied a large portion of my Fantasy Garage to free up imaginary funds to commission one of those Alfas. I'll have mine in dark blue or dark green please.
The Porsche being 50% heavier really caught me off guard. Damn
An Alfa for Singer money is truly an odd conundrum for me… Beautiful etc. but $750,000?
.
I guess money and value aren't real anymore, so why not. The world is truly and utterly broken.
12:00 Wait, so this was the first one taped and was supposed to be the first episode?
Never underestimate an old 911❤
The Alfa is great but I would flip it for the Porsche in a second
The alpha may be the prettiest car for sale. Unreal how it presents, but how do you spend 400k on a car that will be gorilla f***ed by a golf GTI lol. 400k. 400k for a car is is actually slow by todays standards.
My neighbours SC , absolutely beautiful apart from the LED’s
Love your video but my question is do you porsches have a divantage be of the rear engine . Or do you think there is a big difference between mid engine cars to rear engine. Thank you.
A very tough choice but the Alfa Light Weight n frisky does it for me
By the way, the 797kg weight of the Alfa includes a 40kg air-con system…
Moar!
