The defending 550 Canada Heads Up champion is back — and she’s coming to Toronto Motorsports Park to do it again. We caught up with Tamara Gray and her husband Larry Kerrigan at Motorama 2026 to talk about the season ahead at TMP Cayuga, what changes they’re making to the car, and why Toronto Motorsports Park is the only place they want to race.

Tamara Gray won the Wally at the Canada Heads Up event at Toronto Motorsports Park on October 3–5, 2025, taking the 5.50 Index championship in front of a packed crowd at Cayuga. In 2026, she’s not just showing up to defend — she’s showing up to improve. Tamara has been lightening the doors on her purple “Voodoo Mama” first-generation Camaro to help manage the heat and humidity during the summer race calendar, and she’s eyeing the Wally again on Victoria Day weekend in the 550 class. All six races on the Canada Heads Up schedule are on her radar for the full 2026 season.
Tamara has been racing at Toronto Motorsports Park for over 10 years and says TMP is the only place she wants to race. When asked why, the answer was simple — the people. Everybody at TMP is amazing, the facility is world-class, and the Canada Heads Up program gives competitors like Tamara exactly the kind of competitive, well-organized bracket racing they need to push the car to its limits on a consistent basis.

Larry Kerrigan drives the “Sinister Minister” — a ’33 Willys that competes in the True North Gassers series. The True North Gassers program runs on all the major holiday weekends at Toronto Motorsports Park throughout the summer, making it one of the most spectator-friendly and visually exciting classes on the TMP calendar. If you love classic nostalgia drag racing, watching a ’33 Willys launch off the line at Cayuga Dragway is the kind of thing that sticks with you.
Larry and Tamara are regulars at TMP — there almost every single weekend — and they’ve built a reputation as two of the most respected and well-liked competitors in the pit area. Canada Heads Up is one of the premier heads-up drag racing programs in Canada, running at the NHRA-sanctioned quarter mile drag strip at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario.
