Great fit on those! I bet your neighbors love them too!
I didn’t pay attention to the combo on my original guess. Those LT headers should be good for 10-20hp, but they should also provide a little more low-mid range torque. It’s already a torque monster. I think the cam is holding it back N/A. But it will still be a runner.
Man sure wish they had 1.75 8.2 bbks still
bro studs are your friend.
also using the wrong header gaskets
I hope when you go to the dyno you only changed the headers…because if you change the intake tube and throttle body you screwed up your data. And I want to know as I have a 393 with done up "170's" with the 1 5/8" shorties but have a 3" exhaust but putting in a 6r80 and have to figure the headers out. Then bolt on the 205 11r's…but I really want to know if the long tubes are going to be worth the hassle….
those small shorties might be an excuse for a turbo stock displacement 351W car or a 351W headed 302 build…if there's one just lyin' around holding down the floor…not that we should ever buy another project just to use up one part we have. who would ever do such a thing, right? 🙂
I do recommend on header installs to do the hard one first. It sucks the will to live out of you, but if you find you need to lift the engine up off the mounts to get some space, you won't have to pull a great header install on the other side to do it. and having the easy install for last is like getting dessert after brussel sprouts 🙂
Neo do u ever get heat-soak on your starter with the long tubes headers
It’s crazy how take that cam sounds in that big engine, in a 5,0 it’d be chopping. It’s almost stock sounding.
Did you have problems with the steering shaft hitting some of the tubes? Having drop solid motor mounts and half inch k member spacers on mine with a MM steering shaft. Had to bang up 2 of the tubes pretty good for clearance.
Looks like it made 514 to the tire
U can also cut off the small 2.5 ball socket and make a true 3inch header all the way back if you want every bit of horsepower possible.
Love this. Hope you don't have the intercooler hooked up hahaha
What k member are using on that car ?
Really helpful video bro. I’m collecting parts for my 393 fox. I love this video series. Thank you
What's on that car for mufflers….on video it sounds like it has an exhaust leak, even before with old headers.
Scavenging has more to do with LT vs Shorty. Otherwise the gains would all be it high rpm with nothing down low. Not sure if you ran extensions, but they are definitely worth power.
Looks like better fitment than the shorties, and of course better flow, horsepower gain. Great purchase for
N/A build, she does sound more meaner…
Nice. I run 2” Hookers and can put them in/out without disconnecting the steering linkage which is a plus. Interested in the dyno results.
