I owned the R650 along with an R80 and R100 never had an issue with it,… teh BMW Funduro however was shit from only a few hours out of the dealers – the ECU used to cook in warm weather, went through 3 of them before getting a independent mechanic to mount the 4th up front of the engine… but the rest of the electrical problems? the fueling issues? – the last trip to the BMW workshop after I'd had it unregistered as it hadn't run for over a year they gave me the bill and I just said "you know what… you keep the bike… it's yours now" fortunately newer F's seem more reliable but BMW lost me as a customer on on the F650 Funduro my BMW riding mates laughed at me buying a Moto Guzzi but in 11 years the only issue I've ever had was a thrust bearing disintergrating and causing screaming noises the workshop acidently put the wrong model's one in when replacing the clutch plates (at its end of serviceable life, not a failure/fault) fixed for free
