Today, the ninth edition of MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge brought an electrifying atmosphere to the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. Enthusiasts and thrill-seekers gathered for a day of legally sanctioned drag racing on the iconic Woodward Avenue, marking a return to the roots of American automotive culture.
The event, which kicked off at 10:00 AM, offered a variety of ticket packages, starting at $25. With an array of experiences available, from up-close views of the races to exclusive VIP access, attendees were treated to an unforgettable day of high-octane entertainment.
Headlining the event were Dodge National Hot Rod Association Funny Car champion Matt Hagan and European Dodge brand ambassador and Top Fuel racer Ida Zetterström. Both drivers showcased their prowess behind the wheel, piloting 11,000-plus horsepower racecars down the Woodward Avenue strip, leaving the crowd in awe of their power and precision.
A highlight of Roadkill Nights was the return of the Direct Connection Grudge Race, now in its fourth year. This event featured fierce competitors who built their drag cars around the Direct Connection HurriCrate engines. These engines, derived from the high-output 3.0L Hurricane Twin Turbo engine, served as the foundation for each racer’s custom build, pushing the limits of performance and innovation.
The Grudge Race lineup saw the addition of a seventh competitor this year, automotive builder and media personality Mike Musto. Musto competed in a Dodge Hornet GT powered by a HurriCrate engine, bringing an extra level of excitement to the already intense competition. The Grudge Race showcased a mix of creativity, skill, and sheer determination as competitors pushed their machines to the limit in pursuit of victory.
Throughout the day, the event’s main schedule was packed with action. Street-legal drag racing took center stage, with fierce battles in both the Big Tire and Small Tire classes. The muscle car cruise-in provided a nostalgic touch, featuring an impressive lineup of classic and modern muscle cars. Attendees also had the opportunity to experience Dodge Thrill Rides, offering a firsthand taste of the brand’s performance capabilities.
As the sun set on a day filled with roaring engines and burning rubber, the ninth edition of Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge left an indelible mark on Pontiac, Michigan. The event not only celebrated the rich heritage of American drag racing but also highlighted the innovative spirit that continues to drive the automotive industry forward.

Cool event
The Hellcat experience at Meacum’s is always a good time but the Hornet and that ugly car they’re trying to push on the public. . . I think time will both show them to be unwanted. IMO
Hornet is not a car guy car nor is it a hot hatch. It’s a soccer moms suv.
Another great event! Thank you Dodge!
Stop putting sprinkles on poop (Hornet) with your verbiage. It's a trash vehicle and your data shows it LOL
Stellantis is killing the tradition and the Brands!
Why was EVERY car in 'Limp Mode'?? Seems like corporate mandated rule cheating to make Dodge look good!!
Terrible
What’s the fucking Hornet doing there. It’s a disaster and disgrace to the brand!!!!!!
Goldbrurgness!
