“Going fast with class”

In this video, we’re excited to reveal this 1987 Buick Grand National we built for our good friend Dave Fiscus.

Dave is a fan of Buick Grand Nationals and owns four of them. He bought this 1987 Grand National as a rolling chassis and wanted to build it into the best possible x275 car. The car was painted by Boy Knott’s Auto Body and has a one-piece carbon front end, carbon hood, carbon doors, and carbon deck lid. The car also has a real Buick Grand National V6 and It has an 80 millimeter Precision turbo.

This car has undergone a complete transformation and is now a high-performance machine with show car like looks that’s ready to hit the track. From the custom-built engine, paint job, to the modified suspension, no detail has been overlooked by Jay Bird and the rest of the crew.

Join us as we take a closer look at the features and modifications that make this Buick Grand National a one-of-a-kind vehicle. We’ll also talk with Dave Fiscus about what he wanted out of the build and how he feels about the finished product.

  1. Thats really a good looking grand national the work they did is the best ive seen in a wile and i look at g bodys like it going out of style. I got a 84 regal limited the best part of my car is it is a 53k car with bot a spot of rust on it. I'm getting ready this summer to start my build. Ive ben fumbling ideas around on paper and now that ive seen this car i know what im doing for sure. Its definitely going to be a street strip car more strip than street i sure would like to learn more about your cars chassis work anyway thanks for showing it off appreciate it.

  2. Top notch. There’s no reason a race car can’t look like a show car and this proves it. The attention to detail is unbelievable. Especially in the dash. Even the stitching where the upholstery came together was painted in. My first car I drove was our family Grand National. So watching this video brought back some good memories. One day there will be one in my life again.

  3. So it wasn't even a "car" – i.e. get in it and drive it as personal transportation" – and was "just a Regal" – only less – when bought as a "roller" and so-called "real Grand National" that had zero "book value".

How to build a "real Grand National" that wasn't as a "roller" and is even less so now and drop $250,000 in JUST A REGAL nobody can tell from a GN "clone". That still has ZERO "book value".

  4. He "polishes" the edges of Lexan? Yeah. Of course. Otherwise it will shatter when subjjected to an "impact" to the rough edge left when morons "cut" Lexan with a "wood saw".

  5. A fire system for "inside"? Where is his "oxygen mask"? You can't inhale fire suppression chemicals beyond H20 in vapor form without "adverse health effects". What a bunch of idiot "builders". It's a bigger deathtrap with that FLAMMABLE METAL and "fire system" in the "inside" not.to mention all the "hazardous if inhaled" epoxy in the carbon fiber" than if that "show car" was a $25,000 "build" than as-is as a wannabe "race car".

  6. This is what I see when I glare at my GN. Only difference is…. yours is a dream come true! Absolutely 2 thumbs up on your build. Youve done fellow GN owners proud!

If you do follow up videos, we'd all love to see more from the underside. Suspension – tranny kinda stuff. Maybe even a start up to warm idle. Wouldnt hurt to toss in a few photos of what you started with too.

While this video was exceedingly well done, and filled with info, it really only left me wanting to know more more more. More details please!
