  1. Do only American cars run in these races? I'd like to see how a low-power, low-weight European sports car would fare against one of these American cars.

  2. I had a 73 Chevelle Laguna S-3. I bought it from a Chevy dealer in 1975 and it had 14k on it. I payed 3200.00. It was a great car and got me thru college. At the time I wasn’t aware that the S-3 option didn’t start till 1974. It had the S-3 emblem in the front grill. Anyone got any info on 73 S-3’s? It was a 2 door with a vinyl roof and had the 2 smaller windows by the back seat. It had those front swivel bucket seats, those were pretty cool for the day.

  3. As noted below, some really powerful small displacement V8 (around 350 C.I.D.) engines were produced to slip under the insurance companies radar. These cars could embarrass some overloaded big blocks as seen here. Keep the videos coming.

  4. Good to have you back. Two excellent cars. Interesting info and goodies on the Chevelle. Very heavy car indeed. Very close races. Sometimes size (cubic inches) does matter. It did here. Cool cars. Thanks as always

  5. A lot closer than I thought they would have been with that low compression chevy. Those W-31 cars always felt like they had more horsepower than they actually did. Great race between two great cars. Thanks for posting.

  6. I HAD SEVERAL PINTO'S. NON-BEING OF THE RACE VARIETY AWESOME WITH THAT HANDBRAKE FOR SNOW WET WHETHER YOU COULD STEER WITH THAT DANG THING. THEY ALSO WOULD GO ALMOST ANYWHERE, WE HAD STRIP MINES HERE IN OHIO WITH A T AND HUNDRED-FOOT CLIFFS THEY WOULD DIG BIG GOUGES IN THE GROUND MOUNDS OF DIRT AND THIS THING WOULD GO UP AND DOWN ALL OF THEM IF YOU KNEW HOW TO DRIVE.

  7. On a long walk through the neighborhood several months ago, I came across a guy who'd just bought a '74 Chevelle w/ a 350. It was white, and appeared from the outside to be flawless. Probably not fast, but who cares? I complimented the car profusely, and felt a nostalgia that was almost overwhelming. I still admire it whenever I see it sitting out in the driveway.

  8. 4440lbs… DAAAAYUM! Thats almost as heavy as my ex wife has gotten in the 22 years since our divorce! Ya know she still complains to our kids that I bought my 1970 GTO in 1994 when she said I was not allowed to. Guess who still has that GTO… and three other GTOs.. Yeah… this guy.

  9. Love the commentary, please keep it nasty like my 70 tempest that was rusted out so bad that it could beat the 5.0 fox bodys with a 350 2 barrel and a Saginaw 3 spd
