On “My Car Story” we’re in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-17-22.
We’re looking at a 1972 Buick GS Gran Sport in Flame Orange Paint. The car comes with a 455 CI V8 “Stage 1” engine with an automatic transmission.
The car’s Owner is Bert Major. Bert’s had this car since 2021. Bert shares he was looking for a 1970 Buick GS, however when at the auto dealer to see the 1970, this 1972 just was delivered so they made a deal and here is the car.

sweet ride
Man it's mint!
спасибо дизайнерам америки за классные тачки
I remember Mr. Major! He had a flawless Buick Electra 225 coupe (greenish/gray?) at an indoor show about a couple years ago. Very good taste in cars! Sweet GS! Thanks Lou and Mr. Major!
Car looks showroom fresh. These stage 1 Bucks should be equal in value to the Hemi & Boss9 Mustangs. Compression ratios were beginning to drop by 72 but still around 500ft lbs of torque, & without googling I'm guessing 365 hp?
Beautiful GS in a great color ! Thanks for posting Lou !
That would be a great color for me since I’ve gone down in flames so many times!
Great car, great color! High School days for me! So glad u have this channel!
Great, except for the tires; quite the shame.
Love this car…We learn so much from your videos…the detail is the best! I am partial to Buick Cars, as my first car was a 1965 Buick Electra 225! I've never heard of a Stage 1. Now I Know it's the engine. I assume the GS nameplate is a stand alone model at this point, instead of a package. Thanks for your video and detail..
Great Buick Muscle Bert! What a super piece of rumbling eye-candy. Thanks Lou
I love how the proud parent speaks in terms of weeks as to how old their baby is.
This baby is definitely one to be proud of. I've never seen one like it, pictures or otherwise.
Maybe I would really rather have a Buick. Awesome find Major, Bert. …ditto Lou.
Cool damn car
The seatbelt light on the dash was an option on the 72 model and the 71 model mid year you started to see the smog pump. Beautiful car and great find Lou
I owned a 1972 Buick GS convertible in the seventies, great car. The 455 was a great engine to go with it. Then they replaced these with the fat, bloated '73 body and ruined it.
That's cars in perfect condition love the flame orange color sounds great as well love the cars of mussel car area
Wow what a beautiful car!
